As an actor:
Vanessa arrived in Melbourne six years ago from W.A. She has worked in film, TV, theatre and radio. Her recent credits include the lead role in Bill Mousoulis' vampire feature film A Nocturne and a supporting role in the feature Smut by Creative Immediacy. Her future projects include a lead role in two funded short films, the first Gemini Descending (about a girl who lives through Marilyn Monroe) directed by Jenna Davis and the second Feminisia (about the innate inequality between men and women within society) directed by Gareth Ross. Vanessa was booked to go to London in June 2006 but has stayed on as opportunities have arisen.
As a writer:
Vanessa came up with the idea for Ted and Silver at a screenwriting course at AFTRS in 2005 and is appreciative that she has had the opportunity to perform it at the Fringe and have it made into a short film as well. Her other writing credits include If A Bloke Had Endo (a play about endometriosis) performed at Box Hill Hospital and more recently an award from the Cancer Council for her short story A Gift (about her mum's journey through brain cancer). Current works in progress include two unpublished books about women's issues Tough Choice and Don't Hit Me, plus she is very excited to be co-writing a feature film with filmmaker Bob Mousoulis. Vanessa would like the thank Frank Oits for his support and encouragment.
